[Form 8819 (Rev. 9-2017)] This form is for noncontrolled section 902 corporations or branches of foreign corporations operating in a hyperinflationary environment to elect the U.S. dollar as their functional currency. If elected by a corporation, Form 8819 must be filed by an authorized officer or director. If made on behalf of a corporation or branch, Form 8819 must be filed by each majority domestic corporate shareholder. The form requires providing information about the corporation or branch, the country of organization and principal place of business, related entities, domestic corporate shareholders, and relevant percentages of stock ownership.
