To calculate credit reduction for Form 940, determine if you paid FUTA taxable wages in any state with a credit reduction rate greater than zero. Multiply the total FUTA taxable wages by the corresponding credit reduction rate and enter the result in the Credit Reduction box on Schedule A. The total credit reduction is found by summing all the Credit Reduction boxes.
