Renewal or Duplicate Driver License

Application for a Renewal or Duplicate Alabama Driver License / Non-Driver Identification Card for Alabama Drivers who are Temporarily Out of State for Military Service (Includes dependents), Employment, College, Missionary work or Under a Doctor’s Care (Includes serving as a caregiver out of state), and for In-State residents who are unable to visit a driver license issuing office. Alabama residents and individuals out of state for certain reasons can request a duplicate or renewal of their driver license or ID card by mail if they have obtained an Alabama card with picture and signature within the last four years. Form DL-100 is used for this purpose. Required information includes full name, SSN last digits, Alabama number, expiration date, date of birth, height, weight, organ donor status, address, daytime phone number, email address, and reason for mail-in request. Supporting documents must be enclosed based on the reason for the request: military, student, employee, missionary, or under a doctor's care. Fees are payable only by money orders or cashier checks and sent to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Driver License Division.
