This document is a checklist issued by the Colorado Department of Revenue's Division of Motor Vehicles for Temporarily Legal Residents. It outlines the requirements for identity and lawful presence, as well as residential address verification for obtaining a Colorado driver license or ID. The identity documents include unexpired Employment Authorization Document (I-766), Refugee/Asylee I-94 (with photo), foreign passport with unexpired temporary I-551 stamp or U.S. visa and I-94. For certain I-94 classes, additional documents are required. All documents must be verified through the USCIS SAVE verification system. Individuals with specific immigration statuses are not eligible for a Colorado document. Documents must also verify current Colorado residential address, dated within one year, and can be electronic. Veterans or military personnel can get a Veteran or Military Indicator added to their license or ID by bringing DD214 or Retired/Active Military ID. The applicant will be asked about organ, eye, and tissue donation during the application. Individuals unable to provide required documents may be eligible for Exceptions Processing.
