To use as proof of Vermont residency for applicants who are minors or applicants who are over the age of eighteen (18) and who reside with others.
The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) requires that applicants for a Driver’s License, Commercial Driver’s License, Enhanced Driver's License/ID, Learner’s Permit, or Non-Driver Identification Card be Vermont residents. To prove residency, applicants must provide two pieces of mail with their current name and street address, or one proof of residency document and a completed Vermont Residency Certification (form VL-002). Acceptable documents include utility bills, property tax bills, Vermont Tax Form LC-142, EBT or AIM identification cards, and homeowners/renters insurance. US Military personnel have different requirements. Minors and applicants who reside with others must also provide specific documentation. Applicants renewing their Driver’s License, Commercial Driver's License, Enhanced Driver's License, or Non-Driver ID must provide one proof of residency document if they have an out-of-state mailing address.
