Antique/Special Interest Vehicle Certification

This document outlines the process for registering an Antique or Special Interest Vehicle with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Eligibility requirements include a vehicle that is at least 25 years old and has been certified by an established organization as a vehicle of special interest. For an Antique Vehicles, it must have been manufactured before 1949 or meet the definition of a street rod. Special Interest Vehicles can include HMMWVs originally manufactured for military use and older than half the number of years between the current year and 1900. The document requires an authorized representative of the established organization to certify the vehicle's eligibility, confirming they have verified its qualifications based on their organization's standards. The owner must also understand and agree to use the vehicle only for exhibitions, parades, club activities, and similar functions.
