This form is used to notify the Department of Licensing (DOL) about the sale, trade, or transfer of ownership of a vessel. All registered owners must sign the Vessel Certificate of Title and give it to the buyer. The Report of Sale must be mailed to DOL within 5 business days of the sale. The buyer is required to apply for a new registration/title within 15 calendar days and take or mail the signed title and completed application, along with fees and taxes, to any vehicle licensing office. Vessel information includes registration number, hull identification number (HIN), model year, make, certificate of title number, date sold, and sale price. Seller information consists of name, address, city, state, and ZIP code. Buyer information includes name, driver license number (if available), and address. Failure to file a vessel report of sale without the knowledge of the transferee is considered fraudulent filing and punishable under state law.
